starting with a tea party

WildWorks organised a tea party at the Rectory Tearooms in Morwenstow on   14th November. Advised by the Atlantic Coast and Valleys Project Manager, we identified a list of community members to whom we sent personal invitations. We also put posters up around the village inviting those interested in sharing their memories of the place to attend.  

25 community members attended this event. The Tea Party held at the Rectory Tea Rooms offered a unique opportunity to share the memories of older residents in an informal and unthreatening atmosphere. The result was that all those who came along were more than happy to tell their stories, the stories of their families, the story of their place and also to allow us to record them, make notes and scan photographs for later use.
