Neil Davey

Neil DaveyNeil is known, in the Cornish music world, as an inspired performer and visionary interpreter of the tradition and is a member of the leading Cornish band Dalla. Neil and his brothers kick started the revival in Cornish traditional music in the 1970s with their band Bucca, and went on to gain a wealth of experience with bands in the wider Celtic scene.

He has played throughout the world, either with Dalla, or other groups including The Lorraine Jordan Band and Anam, appearing alongside legendary names such as Altan, Donal Lunny, Dougie Maclean, Martin Hayes, Solas and Patrick Street. Neil is also a composer whose work is widely played and recorded, much of it now absorbed into the tradition too. In 2006 Neil joined WILDWORKS for their first show, The Very Old Man With Enormous Wings and toured with Souterrain.

‘Neil Davey is a fabulously talented string player on mandolin and bouzouki, composing many of the instrumentals with a flavor of his native Cornwall' (artistdirect.com - USA).
