| Peter Boyden | Executive Producer |
After early careers in the music and publishing industries, Peter has spent the last 25 years working as a cultural strategist with a "hands-on" interest in the performing arts. During this period he has worked with dozens of festivals, performance companies, arts centres, theatres, orchestras and artists across the UK, in Europe and the US. The result has been a long-term (and yet-to-be-completed) journey of exploration into the nature of creative organisations and the power of social enterprise.
Peter has also been heavily involved in the making of arts policy. In 2000 he was asked by Arts Council England to review the roles and functions of the English regional producing theatres. The resulting "Boyden Report" was instrumental in increasing government investment in theatre by £25m a year. In 2007 Peter was appointed Chair of Culture South West by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. He also served as a trustee of the national Theatres Trust from 2002 to 2007. After two entertaining late experiments with formal employment (as Creative Director at Cornwall's Eden Project and Director of Arts at Dartington in Devon), Peter now brings this wide experience to bear as Wildworks' Executive Producer. After working with the Bill and the core team from the company's earliest days, this close involvement with the UK's most innovative theatre makers feels like it was always meant to happen...
