Lizzy McBain
Lizzy McBainLizzy works most often for WILDWORKS as a visual artist and maker but likes to turn her hand to anything, from sewing sails, using a jigsaw, collecting stories, dancing like a “cabaret artiste” and singing whenever and wherever she is given the opportunity.
After growing up mainly in Oxfordshire, the girl who’s first word was “sky” as she looked up above the Cornish hedgerows from her buggy, somehow knew she’d find her way back to the place she spent the first four years of her life. Since discovering WILDWORKS’ way of working and deciding this was the way forward, she has done just that, increasingly spending more and more time becoming a travelling gypsy, making theatre in the south west and wherever else the path takes her, including Rio de Janeiro where she also collaborates with a Brazilian artist in their company UnderConstruction.
In addition, Lizzy is currently researching for a PhD in to site-based performance at Exeter University where she also tutors on the Drama BA.
